Cookie Policy
We use cookies to make our website easier and more intuitive. The data collected through cookies are used to make the browsing experience more enjoyable and efficient in the future.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files sent from a website to a user’s terminal (usually to the browser), where they are stored before being forwarded to the website the next time the same user visits it. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from a user’s hard drive, neither can it pass on computer viruses nor capture e-mail addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user’s web browser. Some cookie functions can be delegated to other technologies. In this document, the term ‘cookie’ refers to both cookies, as such, and to all similar technologies.
Types of cookie
Cookies may be first- or third-party, whereby “first-party” refers to cookies that take the website as the domain, whereas “third-party” refers to cookies related to external domains.
Third-party cookies are necessarily installed by an external body, and always referred to as “third-party”, not run by the website. Such bodies may also install first-party cookies, saving their own cookies on the domain of the website.
Other cookies are the so-called “Flash Cookies” (Local Shared Objects), used inside Adobe Flash Player to deliver some content, such as video clips or animations in order to store your settings and preferences. Flash cookies are stored on the device but are managed through a different interface to the one provided by the browser used.
Nature of Cookies
With regard to the nature of cookies, there are different types:
Technical cookies
Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary for the provider of a company information service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide this service” (as per Article 122, paragraph 1, of the Privacy Code).
They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the website owner or manager. They can be sub-divided into:
- Navigation or session cookies, which guarantee the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, a purchase to be made or authentication to access reserved areas); they are necessary for the proper functioning of the website;
Analytical cookies, assimilated with technical cookies when used directly by the website manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the website, in order to improve website performance; - Functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a set of selected criteria (e.g., language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided for the same user. The prior consent of users is not required for the installation of these cookies (more information is available in the “Cookie Management” paragraph below).
- Profiling Cookies; Profiling cookies are designed to create profiles regarding the user and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the same user while navigating on the Internet.
The consent of the user is required for the use of profiling cookies. According to the provision (further information is available in the “Cookie Management” paragraph below), the user can authorise or refuse consent to the installation of cookies using the options provided in the “Cookie Management” section.
In the case of third-party cookies, the website does not have direct control of individual cookies and is not able to control them (it cannot directly install or delete them). Nevertheless, you can manage these cookies using the browser settings (follow the instructions given below), or the websites specified in the “Cookie Management” section.

Here is a list of cookies (logically grouped according to functionality or provider) found on this website. Third-party cookies have a link to the Privacy Policy statement of the related external provider, where you can find a detailed description of each cookie and how it is used.

System Cookies
The website uses cookies to guarantee a better navigation experience for users; these cookies are essential for the proper use of the website. You can disable these cookies from the browser by following the instructions in the relevant paragraph but this may compromise your experience on the website and we will not be held liable for any malfunctions.
Duration of cookies
Cookies have a duration governed by their expiry date (or by a specific action such as closing the browser), which is set at the time of installation.
Cookies can be:
- Temporary or for a session (session cookies): they are used to store temporary information, allowing the connection of actions performed during a specific session and are removed by the computer when the browser is closed;
- Permanent (persistent cookies): they are used to store information, for example, name and login passwords so that the user is not required to type them in every time a specific website is visited. These are stored on the computer even after the browser has been closed.
